Pairings: some 85 (Hakkai x Gojyo) but the series is leading up to, and mainly centering on 38 (Sanzo x Hakkai).
Summary: Sanzo watches over Hakkai until he wakes up, then the group is attacked by Chin Yiso. Goku reappears, but is left behind with Gojyo when Hakkai and Sanzo decide to lure the attacker away from those already injured. Hakkai nearly strangles Sanzo, defeats Chin Yiso, and... everything turns out alright?
Rating: PG-13ish
Notes: So, even though this is mostly from the cannon story, I wanted to offer perspective on this event, particularly from Sanzo and Hakkai's points of view. I especially wanted to put forth my own version of whether Hakkai actually believed that he'd killed Sanzo or not.
